Outline of Research and Development Proposals
The main objective of this project is to achieve the social implementation of optical quantum computers, and to promote the construction of a man-machine interface that includes the development of compilers and assemblers, as well as the realization of actual hardware that can be operated as a cloud computer. The goal is to build a system for large-scale general-purpose quantum computation, simulate optical quantum operations, and finish cloud computing with optical fibers and optical waveguides into an optical quantum information processing system that can operate stably 24 hours a day, 365 days a year with almost no manual optical axis adjustment or maintenance. When we achieve this, we will be able to show that we can use light quanta to do things that are equivalent to or better than the devices operating as quantum computers in Japan and abroad, and this is expected to be a major step forward in future research and development.
